Dr. Laurie brings over 30 years of hands-on experience working with infants of all abilities, including medically fragile children. She has specialized training in:
- Torticollis and Flat Head Syndrome – Supporting head shape without helmets whenever possible.
- Infant Massage – Building strong, whole-body connections while deepening the parent-baby bond.
- Neubie Neuromuscular Re-education – A cutting-edge approach for faster muscle strengthening and recovery.
- Oral Motor Strength and Coordination – Helping babies build the muscles they need for feeding and early speech development.
Flat Head Syndrome (Plagiocephaly)
Babies spend a lot of time on their backs, and some naturally prefer turning their heads to one side, which can lead to flat spots. This is especially common for NICU graduates or babies who resist tummy time.
Dr. Laurie’s mission is to keep babies out of helmets whenever possible by using personalized exercises, positioning strategies, and gentle head shaping techniques. She even offers a convenient app-based head assessment to measure the severity of flatness and determine if a helmet consultation is necessary.
