VISITS
Your physical therapist will develop a plan for you and your baby depending on your specific concerns. These visits can begin early in infancy to address position changes, tummy time and gross motor progression. Dr. Laurie has a vast knowledge in the treatment of children with all diagnoses as well as working with medically fragile children.
She has specialized training for treatment of torticollis and flat head syndrome. Dr. Laurie is also a Certified Infant Massage Instructor and Certified Neubie Practitioner. Most recently, she received training in improving oral motor strength/coordination.

FLAT HEAD
SYNDROME
Babies are prone to getting a flat head if they are not given adequate position changes or tummy time. Many babies dislike tummy time due to sleeping on their backs. In addition, many NICU babies struggle with preference to keeping their heads turned one way more than another. Babies may require specialized activities to tolerate tummy time. Dr. Laurie has a mission of keeping babies out of helmets and has taken specialized classes to work with babies that have a flat head and torticollis (tight neck muscle) that can result in a flat head in some infants. Through an app, Dr. Laurie can screen a baby's head for severity of flatness to determine if a helmet consultation is needed.

LOCATIONS
Dr. Laurie provides services in clinic or in home (Navarre/Gulf Breeze/Mary Esther/Ft. Walton Beach).
